Ocoee Retreat Center
The center offers rafting on the Ocoee River. Raft America’s favorite whitewater run with skilled guides from Nantahala Outdoor Center, “One of the Best Outfitters on Earth.” The Middle Ocoee offers continuous, splashy Class III-IV rapids that give rafters a taste of an amazing whitewater rush. Plus, you’ll be able to say you rafted on an Olympic river — the Ocoee River was home to the 1996 Olympic Kayak Slalom course. It’s also fun to mention you ran Grumpy’s, Double Trouble and Table Saw, all names of rapids on the Middle Ocoee.

Camp Ondessonk
Led by a small group of capable, specialized adventure staff, every week our summer adventure programs take a small, co-ed group of campers on a journey away from our main campus to participate in specific adventure activities. This creates an opportunity for remarkable knowledge and skill growth. Each week’s program is unique and features a different activity focus, with the exception of our adventure sampler program called “Hike, Bike, Paddle, and Climb” which introduces campers to a new adventure activity each day. |
Camp Living Stones
CLS has partnered with the professional guiding outfit company, O.A.R., to offer campers a white water rafting experience on the thrilling Ocoee River, home to all white water events of the 1996 Olympic Games.
The Ocoee River rafting experience is great for the first time rafter to the most experienced of all, offering up to class 4 rapids. Campers, who are 12 years of age and older, will have the opportunity to hit the “Middle section” of the Ocoee as a trained, experienced guide provides a safe and thrilling day on the water, all the while being captivated by the beauty and power of God’s creation. |
Outland Expeditions
Few weekend getaways can offer the kind of exhilaration that Ocoee River rafting does. This Tennessee gem winds 93 miles through the lush, green Smoky Mountains and within the Cherokee National Forest. A 1,500-foot stretch of the river was even modified to create the Ocoee Whitewater Center, used for the 1996 Olympic canoe and kayak slalom competitions. Now, the Ocoee River has been named as the Most Popular Whitewater Rafting River in America. |
