Granite Arches - Granite Arches offers ice climbing guiding and courses in the southeast U.S. Granite Arches' Ice Climbing. They will teach you the basic tools and techniques of ice climbing; knots, belay techniques, and basic movement in ice climbing. Interested parties will also be introduced to rope handling and management in longer classes. Like all of Granite Arches' other classes, course content is tailored to each climber's personal climbing goals and needs. • Ice equipment overview • Tool swinging technique • Foot technique: German/French • Specialized ice climbing belaying techniques • Ice climbing resting and efficiency • Ice tool selection and usage • Steep ice techniques: crossover, tool-stacking • Lateral climbing Stillhouse Hollow Falls - North facing waterfall one hour south of Nashville. Gets climbable after a few days subzero. Well formed with 4-5 lines after a week. Also plenty of mixed opportunities.
